Rado: pioneer and leader in high-tech materials and design

Rado, a globally recognised Swiss watch brand that traces its roots to 1917, is famous for its innovative design and visionary use of revolutionary materials to create some of the world’s most durable watches. Ever since its beginnings in Lengnau, Switzerland, Rado has had a pioneering spirit, with the brand philosophy “if we can imagine it, we can make it” still holding true today.

Iconic style and substance are the cornerstones of the brand as Rado continues to assert its mastery of materials to create beautiful and eye-catching watches that will stand the test of time. Nothing gets in the way of Rado’s mission to discover, invent and innovate in watches – we can truly say that “Time is the essence we are made of”.

Rado watches dazzle with beautiful lightweight high-tech ceramic

Rado's mission has always been to create watches of everlasting beauty – a mission that led the brand to pioneer the use of high-tech ceramic in watchmaking. Now Rado's signature material, high-tech ceramic stands out among luxury watchmaking materials for its remarkable marriage of lightness and hardness.
As one of the lightest and most durable materials used in high-end watchmaking.

Rado high-tech ceramic is 10 times harder than 18k gold while being 2.5 times lighter. Steel is also no match for the impressive properties of high-tech ceramic, which is five times harder but only three-fourths its weight. Rado high-tech ceramic watches also owe their exceptional lightness to their monobloc ceramic cases, Rado’s revolutionary approach to case construction that forgoes the stainless steel core in favour of solid ceramic.

Rado True Thinline Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier

As the Master of Materials, we have used all the expertise we’ve gained during more than 30 years of working with high-tech ceramic to create watches in the nine Architectural Polychromy colours deemed to be both appealing and the most challenging to create consistently. As the exclusive watch partner of Les CouleursTM Le Corbusier, only Rado is able to make these exact colours and we are proud to produce them in our signature high-tech ceramic.

An award-winning designer with numerous prestigious international prizes to its name, and considered the most forward-thinking design player in the watch industry today, Rado has always been a pioneer and leader, setting the standard and raising the bar.

Rado & Tennis - Advantage, Rado

Whether played on grass, clay or hard court, in tennis even the smallest advantage can be decisive. Rado takes a similar approach to its timepieces, all of which offer advantages in terms of material, design and features that make them unique. Endurance, strength of character, dynamism and the consistent pursuit of perfection – these are the core values that Rado shares with tennis, making the two partners an unbeatable team.

This strong connection has continued for almost four decades and is evident in Rado's active involvement as Official Timekeeper and Partner at many leading tournaments around the world, as well as in the brand’s support for talented young players.
