Hypnotic style. Infallible resistance.
True to its DNA, MIDO is once again playing with shapes down to the smallest detail with the Multifort TV Big Date. Its perfect finishing makes it a unique model, as comfortable as it is striking on the wrist. It has become the "everyday watch" for dressing up everyday moments with just the right amount of boldness and originality.
The big comeback of the TV-shape case
Does anyone still remember the very first TVs? Their modestly sized screens were designed with a shape long-since disappeared – an almost square rectangle with rounded corners. Mido used this shape in 1973, 1980 and 2000 for the design of some of its models. Fifty years after its first appearance, the cult classic TV-shaped case has returned to the brand's catalogue, honouring its rich heritage with a breath of fresh air.
Shapes as subtle as they are dynamic
A flat, square satin-brushed bezel surrounds the stunning light-reflecting dial featuring a pronounced horizontal brushed finish. The famous BIG DATE appears masterfully on the two-level dial. At each quarter, trapezoidal hour-markers add another distinctive feature to the combination. At 12 o'clock, a dot on the bezel cleverly serves as a marker and recalls the round hour-markers, historically present in several Multifort models. As an extension of this refined bezel, the bracelet with its polished central mallets adds an elegant roundness to the watch.
High-tech mechanics
The transparent case back of the Multifort TV Big Date offers a glimpse of the finely decorated gears of the Calibre 80, featuring an oscillating weight adorned with Côtes de Genève and engraved with the Mido logo. The model offers a power reserve of up to 80 hours. Mido has incorporated a balance spring made from Nivachron™, a state-of-the-art material that offers superior resistance to magnetic fields and shocks for outstanding precision. The Multifort TV Big Date is reliable down to the smallest detail, and it can withstand a pressure of up to 10 bar (100 m / 330 ft).
Precise, robust and bold, the Multifort TV Big Date expresses Mido's historic mastery of watchmaking in a dynamic and original new aesthetic, designed for modern-day city dwellers.
